Rescued Domain Return

I received an email last week about a domain I had “rescued” back in 2016 (faithbaptistcynthiana.org).  It had belonged to Faith Baptist Church in Cynthiana Kentucky, had expired, but had active links from other websites.

Rather than to leave the domain and risk letting it get picked up and turned into a porn website or an advertising website, I registered the domain and put up basic information about the church with information on how to contact me if the ministry wanted to get the domain back.

In the email, Pastor Chamberlin indicated he was interested in getting a website back up, and did not have a bunch of expertise. He said he was surprised when he searched for FBC online and our rescued domain popped up.

I sent Pastor Chamberlin my contact information and he called me.

We had a nice chat, and I set up his domain on WordPress. I set up a template that allows sliders so he can highlight upcoming events. When he gets some time Pastor Chamberlin said he will give me a call and we will spend some time going through WordPress. Until then he has a basic website up. I will put up a slider early next week to highlight the time change next weekend so he will get a feel for what the template looks like.
