Volume 27 Issue 3 (Third Quarter 2014) – Missionaries to Cyberspace Newsletter

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

The Latest News: The demands of the Greyhound job are still going strong. Unfortunately, several high seniority drivers have bid into Dallas, so it will be a rough winter with holddowns and regular work not likely. Please continue to keep us and this ministry in prayer!

Church Website Ministry:

  • We rescued a domain for Crossroads Baptist Church in Roxboro North Carolina back in 2008 (cbc-roxboro-nc.us). We have been hosting the website since then. They are currently up on WordPress. There was a change of pastors, the new Pastor called me today wanting to know how he could change the Pastor's name on the Website. I created a new login ID and after a 10 minute tutorial, Pastor Evans was up to date on how to make simple changes to the website. Part of the value we add is to provide continuity when there is a change of administrators on a website.
  • I received an email: "I am a retired fundamental Baptist pastor but I would like to set up a website/blog where I could have a teaching site in which I could perhaps speak and insert printed messages and picture illustrations.  I have never done so and have no idea how to even get started.  If possible I would like to talk with someone there over the phone to explain what I have in mind.  I have already worked out what I would like to have as a heading for my site.  I wish to call it:  The Pastor's Study." I registered a domain for Pastor Anthony: pastors-study.com and set up a WordPress installation. Pastor Anthony is currently looking at updating the website.
  • I received a request from a church member wanting to set up a discipleship and teaching website for their church. He asked if I could register the domain threetothrive.org, which I did. We set up a WordPress website for him, and he will be looking to update it with a "Thought of the day" using the WordPress app on his android phone. We are now hosting 70 ministry websites using WordPress!

Bible Correspondence Courses:  We want to thank Katherine Feguer, John & Lydia Henrici, J.L. & Florence Smith for helping on the Bible Correspondence courses over the last quarter.

  • Second Quarter StatsWe mailed out 598 lessons and 26 certificates to 119 active students (4 international and 18 incarcerated). We had active students in 5 countries: Canada, Malawi, Sri Lanka, Zambia and USA.  We had 2 salvation decisions, a 54 year old man from Pennsylvania and a 4 year old girl from Texas.

Here are some comments we received from people that are taking the correspondence courses:

  • From an inmate in Indiana: Hello..I will be released in a couple of weeks, and would like to continue these lessons at my new address. Could you please update your records, and send all graded and new lessons to my new address. Thank you, for you time in this matter.
  • From a student in Iowa… Thank you for giving me the opportunity to grow in knowledge of and in Christ and God’s plan for me.

  • From a student in Malawi, Africa: Dear the Hoffman Family,  Greetings from Malawi the warm heart of Africa in the most precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. I always fail to appreciate the wonderful love that you show to us. This lesson of soulwinning has been very helpful to me that it will help me to take the appropriate steps in reaching the lost souls. We love you people so much. Please continue sending us these wonderful lessons. May the good Lord richly bless you and meet all your personal (family) needs. In Jesus Christ, your son …. Please keep us in your daily prayers as we do the same here.

Tract Ministry: We have "given out" over 69,000 Bible Tracts online.
Social Networking Outreach: I get new requests on my evangelistic Facebook account regularly. I now have 2482 "friends" in my evangelistic Facebook account. This is a valuable tool to reach the unsaved masses.
Support:  We are currently at 67% of support for our ministry expenses. 100% of money donated to us goes to support the ministry – we use NO money for personal expenses.

Prayer Needs: The Lord's will regarding secular work and health benefits. Help in raising support for the ministry. Please keep us in prayer for our personal financial needs in addition to the ministry's financial needs. Would you consider praying for us when special needs arise? If so, please subscribe to our prayer warrior's mailing list. : http://eepurl.com/SYbI9.  I would like to be back in the full time ministry by November of 2015. Please pray for us to be able to obtain a self propelled RV by that time, as well as the Lord's will on going full time.

Specific Financial Needs:  Our server needs have been met for the year! Praise God!
