Verizon, Power, and the Waterfall

I am about 7/8ths through with the domain nameserver renames to fix the problem on the Verizon nameservers. Unfortunately a couple of other issues have raised their heads to use up time that could have been put to better use.

The battery in my truck (state of the art – 1994 GMC pickup truck) has been causing me problems for months. Trouble shooting with all the help I have gotten has led me to believe the battery was at fault. The battery is less than a year old, purchased at NTB. They kept telling me the battery was okay – and last week suggested I had a short and suggested I take my truck to an electronics expert. At the request of someone from church, I put a slow charge on the truck for 2 days. When I tried to start it after two days it would not start. I went to Autozone today, and had a new battery put in. For the first time I noticed a build up of oxidation on the battery tray. The battery appears to have been leaking (which would explain the rust in the driveway?). Anyway – have decided I will no longer deal with National Tire and Battery (NTB). We will see if the new battery will hold the charge. So far so good.

Maureen called Jessica and I to lunch. We have a two story house, and in their infinite wisdom, the builders placed the washer and dryer area on the second floor. The washer sits in a plastic pan which has long since cracked due to the motion and the weight of the washing machine. Jessica said "the washer is overflowing." Yup there was water all over the floor. We caught it relatively early, but there is a little damage to the closet ceiling downstairs, water is still dripping through.Carpet upstairs is wet. I hopped into my new battery equipped truck and drove to Fry's, where I picked up a $9.99 water detector, which now sits in the pan by the washing machine. No idea why it overflowed, but it seems to be working now. Praise the Lord. Things could have been a lot worse! Also PTL it is warm today, so we are running fans and A/C to help dry out the house.
