We had the pleasure of meeting brother Donald Plant and his wife at a BEAMS Conference in March.
Brother Plant is interested in getting the Gospel message to people in Slovakia. He has the idea of recording a brief Gospel message weekly (once a week, twice a week, etc.).
A lot of the content on the website will be in Slovak, the official language of Slovakia, which is a West Slavic language closely related to Czech, Polish, and the Sorbian languages of eastern Germany. Slovak is spoken by about 5 million native speakers in Slovakia and is also recognized as a minority language in several other countries including the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, and Romania.
The language is regulated by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and is written using the Latin alphabet with additional diacritical marks.
Brother Donald chose on “Slovensko Pre Ježiša” (Slovakia For Jesus) as the title for the site.
We discussed domains and the Plants decided on “slovakia4jesus.com” as a domain for their ministry.
The site is still under construction, but they hope to get it finished when they go on a mission trip to Slovakia in mid June 2025 to hand out tracts (that will have the web page for the site on them).
