Alaska out in the cold?We registered a domain for Gatewood Baptist Church, and will be setting up a template based website for the church with the pastor, who will be running the website going forward. There were some issues with getting the templates set up yesterday (due to an upgrade in the software and some less than great tech support). The templates are installed today, Pastor Price and I are planning to get together Friday afternoon to get the new domain set up.A rescued domain for a church in Alaska is coming up for renewal. A Google search for the church shows another domain with the same name (.com, ours is .org) registered. When I go to their website their NEW domain is also an advertising site at this time! I have tried unsuccessfully to contact the church (I keep getting a recording that the “lines are temporarily busy, please try again later) for two days. I have an email address (which may or may not be good). Why would this church register a second domain without contacting us to get their domain back? Why would they let the second domain go away also (I pray it is a temporary outage and their new domain is not lost, but the registrar is in New Jersey, not Alaska so who knows)?
