Yesterday I had the pleasure of sitting down with Missionary Ray Boltz (missionary to Guyana), to discuss the direction he wanted to take his website (guyanabaptistministries.com).
He has returned from Guyana, his daughter got married today in Oklahoma, and he had to come into Dallas yesterday to pick up the pastor from his sending church at Love Field, so he came down a little early and we had a brainstorming session at the local Burger King.
It was a fruitful time together. I was able to provide some valuable hands on training to brother Ray and we were able to set up a Facebook interface (API) with his website so he could publish to his website and the website would update his Facebook page for him.
I was also able to get a better understanding of how Brother Ray wanted to use the website, and we were able to configure the website to help accomplish his goals.
Almost everything went pretty well, but we were never able to get the WordPress app on his smartphone working correctly. The app on the smart phone would allow Brother Boltz to take pictures, and then publish a picture with a post to his web page. The web page would then automatically update his social media pages for him. Lord willing it will be easy for us to figure out what is causing the problem (I think I may have figured it out while I was typing this).
He is thinking we will be able to spend some more time together in the next week or two and lock things down, but it was a blessing spending time with brother Ray and working to help him try and get his website to accomplish what he wants it to do!
