Maureen and I were invited to First Baptist Church of Flat. First Baptist Church of Flat is one of our supporting churches.
We met Pastor Floyd and Sara Brown years ago in Alvarado Texas when they were on deputation as home missionaries in a recovery ministry. We subsequently put up a website and provided hosting for Pastor Brown when he Pastored Eureka Baptist Church in Weatherford Texas.
Pastor Brown then took over First Baptist Church of Flat in Flat Texas, in March of 2017; we put a website for them at fbcflat.com.
Maureen and I drove down on Saturday, September 30 (2018) and after a wonderful dinner prepared by the church bookkeeper Laurie, Laurie, Pastor Brown and I sat down and I gave them a tutorial on how to work in WordPress. We also discussed what they wanted to accomplish and I installed a Calendar, and a Bible Reading program that included Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening devotions.
We also discussed a different look for First Baptist Church of Flat’s website, and we looked at some other themes. I will be installing some additional themes and we will be changing the look of the website. Brother Floyd also has some long range plans that we can incorporate in the infrastructure now, which should make it easier to implement when the time comes.
I was able to present the ministry to the congregation and then preach the morning message.
The congregation is a warm and friendly group of people, the church is a beautiful country church, and we were welcomed and felt right at home.
